Eden Valley Poultry Incorporated is seeking an Acclimatization Worker to join our
team. You are responsible for safe handling of live birds in acclimatizing ensuring
compliance with the animal welfare program.

As the Acclimatization Worker, you will:
•
Safely unload live bird modules using a forklift and ensure proper handling procedures are followed.
•
Stage live bird modules according to lot numbers and load schedules as required.
•
Wash, sanitize, and maintain live haul trailers and related equipment.
•
Reload empty modules into the system and secure clean tarps appropriately.
•
Monitor staged birds to ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and company procedures.
•
Complete all required documentation and records accurately, including HACCP-related forms and reports.
•
Follow all departmental policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions to maintain consistency and
operational efficiency.
•
Adhere to all health and safety, environmental, food safety, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
•
Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and biosecurity requirements at all times.
•
Participate in departmental meetings, operational updates, continuous improvement initiatives, HACCP/food safety
programs, and quality-related activities.
Requirements:
•
Previous experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, or poultry environment preferred.
•
Experience operating forklifts or heavy equipment is considered an asset.
•
Valid Forklift Certification required.
•
Valid Nova Scotia Class 1 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement required.
•
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
•
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
•
Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office.
•
Flexible to work rotating early morning shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
•
Physically capable of lifting up to 25 lbs and working in environments exposed to dust, noise, warm temperatures, and
protective equipment requirements.
