Eden Valley Poultry Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you are responsible for developing a purchasing strategy. The Ideal Purchasing Manager will: Develop and implement purchasing strategies and improve existing purchasing procedures. Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to ensure cost effective purchasing decisions. Work on partnerships with reliable vendors. Audit invoices to ensure compliance with contracts. Maintain vendor compliance documentation for quality assurance and/or insurance. Process new vendor requests, lead times and pricing items in ERP system Deal with complaints from vendors and resolve issues during purchasing. Forecasts required purchase quantities based on inventory on hand, lead time, and expected consumption. Determine minimum and maximum inventory levels for all inventory and consumables. Schedule and track purchase deliveries, ensuring timely and smooth delivery. Create purchase requisitions, obtain approval prior to placing supply orders and review outstanding purchase orders to ensure validity. Monitor the quality of purchasing items. Keep current with market fluctuations. Ensure internal purchasing authorization policies are being followed. Requirements: Undergraduate degree in related field or equivalent experience required. Supply Chain and Management Certification preferred. Minimum of five years of experience, including a minimum of two years in a leadership role. Working experience in purchasing or inventory controls required. Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards. Working knowledge of health and safety regulations. Team-player with excellent leadership skills, able to motivate others, negotiate effectively, and interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work/excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential. Demonstrated success in building strong, collaborative teams, setting stretch objectives, and holding people accountable for commitments with a track record of delivering favorable results.
